About us
There are many companies out there who provide telephone systems - but few, if any, have the heritage and the pedigree which the Advance Group can claim.

We started out in life as the maintenance arm of a leading telecoms vendor in the early 1980s and became an independent business communications provider in 1999. This gives us more than 25 years experience, with a core engineering team that still retains some of its original members. Added to this, we have customers with maintenance contracts dating back 22 years. So when we say we have ‘heritage’ we really do mean it.

The cornerstone of our business is the ability to recommend tried, tested and trusted solutions that work first time, every time. We do not jump on the bandwagon of ‘bleeding edge’ technologies. Instead we take time to evaluate these and to offer them to our customers only when we are confident that they will do the job that is required – and only then if they are actually what you really need.

The company has grown through an ongoing programme of acquisition which has enabled us to develop specialist skills in our sales and engineering departments, whilst our management team has also been strengthened as senior managers and former business owners have joined the company. Today we have over 70 employees, of which 20 are in the engineering department and are able to offer a truly national coverage, provided by our locally-based engineering and sales resource. We have over 7,000 active business customers with formal contract agreements, supporting more than 140,000 users.

Who we work with
Our many years in business have given us a clear understanding of the market and of the technologies available. During this time we have carefully selected the vendors with whom we choose to work and have established long-standing and valuable relationships. Today these vendor partnerships include Samsung and Avaya, where we are Platinum and Gold partners respectively, plus Inter-Tel, Panasonic and NEC. And to underpin all of this, we are also a BT Wholesale partner.

Why we are different
One of our key differentiators as a provider of communications solutions is that we are also a full business Internet Service Provider (ISP). Not only this, but we are a London Internet Exchange (LINX) member, which means that Advance Group is one of only 230 ISPs in the UK who have direct connectivity into LINX, along with companies such as AOL, Demon, BT, EasyNet and so on. This relationship, coupled with the fact that we run our own network and manage our own fibre, enables us to provide a much more reliable ISP service, with far less opportunity for a single point of failure.
