Contract Marketing

I have 18 years marketing experience, the last ten of which have been primarily in the IT sector. I set up Contract Marketing in October 2002 to provide freelance marketing support, copywriting, project management, marketing consultancy and channel marketing support on a day-rate basis to client companies in a wide range of industry sectors, as well as to design and marketing agencies. I am based in Milton Keynes but have clients throughout the UK.

If you are specifically interested in copywriting services for brochures, websites, articles, adverts, direct mail, email shots, case studies or anything else, please visit my sister website at www.freelancecopywriting.biz for more details, client comment and a range of samples.

Working with a freelancer has a number of advantages over using a traditional marketing agency:

I provide marketing support capability and copywriting skills for your business, but only when you need them.
With a contract basis of this nature, the saving in mark-up on services bought in for marketing campaigns is considerable, as I am buying on your behalf directly as the customer.
I am able to understand your business fully, due to the close working relationship that is developed.
However, you still benefit from my existing relationships with suppliers, built up over a number of years in the industry.

Services
My business is split roughly 50/50 between marketing project management and copywriting. Since working as a freelancer I have carried out numerous marketing projects for clients, either as a retained freelance marketing manager or on a per project basis. This includes direct mailing and advertising campaigns, website development, marketing collateral production, re-branding, exhibition management, channel marketing and marketing audits. On the copywriting side, I write brochures, newsletters, direct marketing materials, websites, articles and case studies, as well as offering ghost writing services. I perform the role of marketing manager for a number of UK SME companies on a freelance basis from my office in Milton Keynes, although I do of course spend time on client site when required. For more information on the services offered by Contract Marketing please look at the Services page

Experience
My past experience in the IT and telecoms industry included senior roles with Infobank International as partner alliance marketing manager and Lucent Technologies Enterprise Networks as head of channel marketing. Whilst with Infobank I was responsible for the development of the global channel strategy, for implementation of regional tactical marketing activities and for partner recruitment programmes. In my role at Lucent, I was responsible for 125 voice and data partners in the UK and Ireland, managing all channel marketing requirements for the business. Although my background is in the IT sector, I have been providing marketing support and copywriting services for a variety of other industry sectors as well since setting up the business.

“Well done Marketing! Just thought I would drop you a quick note to say what a great marketing idea the straw, sticks and bricks was. What you sent me was pretty much the only piece of marketing literature that has not gone straight in the bin for the past two months.”
